SHAW CONFERENCE CENTRE PROJECT REPORT

Project:                 SHAW Conference Centre, at 9797 Jasper Avenue Edmonton Alberta Canada. Carpet Replacement in Pedway Level Corridor Carpet to Riverview Room.

Manufacturer:    C &A Tandus Corporation

Product:               Six foot POWERBOND ,03136 "Manufactured Landscape", color: 65005 "frozen earth", as supplied remnants by project owner consisting of new, used and damaged material*.

Yardage:              Corridor 430 sq. yards (12-19 ft. Wide), plus stairs 120 sq. yards; Total 550 sq. yards.

Traffic:                  Heavy rolling wheel.

Preparation Work:

1.     Sort through remnant six foot broadloom carpet , cut pattern into usable 3'x6' lengths, clean backing , steam creases and  stack into piles  (PHOTOS: 349, 350 &351).

2.     Gundlach HOTGLUE2 ^tm thermoplastic adhesive and 5HG2 reinforcing mesh tape was used to reassemble pattern 3'x6' lengths and  various pieces of lesser width into a randomized pattern  to span the width of the corridor in 3 foot strips (PHOTOS: 352, 329 & 327).

Installation Procedure :

3.     Fold back 3ft. strips halfway across the corridor, pencil trace the edge of each strip onto the floor as each strip is folded back.  And full apply a full spread of the recommended floor covering Tandus C-TR adhesive (PHOTOS: 326 & 334).

4.     Place 6mm polyethylene release film along the length of fold in the carpet and under seams of each 3ft. strip (PHOTOS: 335, 338 & 339).

5.     Fold back 2^nd half of the corridor, remove release film from fold and spread floor covering adhesive, then place release film under seams  (PHOTOS: 340).

6.     Cut cross seams with Gundlach N0. 295 Uni-Cutter & remove salvage edge (PHOTOS: 343 &345).

7.     Remove release film from under the cross seams and seal seams by applying  Tandus C-XL universal carpet sealer with the Gundlach GLUE2 ^tm applicator tip & bottle (PHOTOS: 346, 321 & 347).

8.     100Lb roller applied to newly installed carpet (PHOTO: not shown).

Summary:

Approximately 996 lineal feet of seams joined with HOTGLUE2 ^tm   thermoplastic seam sealer and 5HG2 fibreglass reinforcing mesh tape.  Approximately 1231 lineal feet of seams sealed with Tandus C-XL universal seam sealer applied with GLUE2 ^tm   applicator tip and bottle.
